Palmerston North Gisborne Line [0L]: Volume 5 Progress Update 12

As the regular updates show, we continue to make considerable progress on the Volume 5 basic maps. Since yesterday all of the historical map mosaics for this volume have been completed with projects generated for Terrace End (Palmerston North), Woodville, Waipukurau and Dannevirke in addition to the ones already put together for the Gisborne area. These will add to the existing historic maps of Napier and Wairoa that have already been produced.

The tiles for Woodville can be seen below and cover the eras 1946, 1962, 1972 and 1983, as well as 2015.

The interleave script has been completed and tested along with another script to bulk rename map images. The interleave worked right as we needed it to and the result is the Combined Maps set will be easily able to be uploaded into Google Photos when we have finished creating the maps, with a sample set working well.

We are currently drawing the maps for Woodville and Waipukurau and the rest will be completed sometime next week so that we can finish off producing the Basic maps for Volume 5 by hopefully the end of next week.

As noted above these images are of Woodville for 1946, 1962, 1972, 1983 and 2015. Woodville seems to have been majorly rebuilt when the balloon loop was put in and this included a new station and possibly a new platform moved back to allow an extra track to be put in. The main line connections at both ends of the yard have been changed as well.
